Summary

An analysis was done on energy saving in air conditioning plants. The thermal behaviour of a recovery system consisting of an adiabatic humidifier coupled with an air-to-air heat exchanger was studied and compared to that of a single recovery exchanger through a digital simulation. The study was done with reference to different conditions of the outside air and different air flows, in order to obtain a technical-economic evaluation on the system adoption. The equipment proposed can be a worthwhile option due to the amount of the energy recovered, both in summer and in winter, though this on the climatic conditions, the outside air flow and the cost of electric energy.
