Summary

The results of the experimental investigations of heat transfer between a model tissue and liquid nitrogen and nitrogen monoxide are presented in the second part of this article. These investigations were designed to simulate a cryosurgical operation. Commercially available preparations were used in these investigations. Four criteria have been applied on the basis of a literature review: diameter and depth of a frozen tissue, the temperature level as well as the temperature decrease rate at chosen measurement points.
