European project on a self-limiting superconducting power link.

Author(s) : VERHAEGE T., HERRMANN P. F., BOCK J., et al.

Summary

Superconducting power links will offer the opportunity for low-loss power transmission of high nominal currents and fault current limitation simultaneously in one single device. They will find their applications as generator out-lines or in the medium voltage power distribution grid. As a significant step towards the GVA-class 3-phases application, the first aim of the project is the demonstration of a one-phase functional model.
