Summary

In order to reduce energy consumption, the authors designed and built an office building with natural ventilation and a night purge system in Tokyo, and tried to evaluate the energy conservation effects of this building, firstly, by numerical analysis, then by in situ measurements. Both evaluations were similar and showed that natural and night ventilations are very effective in achieving energy savings.
