TEST STUDIES MADE UNDER VARIOUS OPERATING CONDITIONS OF A SYSTEM ENABLE ONE TO DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM THERMODYNAMIC CONDITIONS FOR A GIVEN EJECTOR GEOMETRY OR TO DEFINE AN OPTIMUM DESIGN OF THE EJECTOR UNDER REQUIRED THERMODYNAMIC CONDITIONS. THE EFFICIENCY MEASURED DURING THE TESTS ATTAINED 0.76 FOR SOURCE TEMPERATURES OF 85, 30 AND 15 DEG C. A UNIDIMENSIONAL OVERALL MODEL CONFIRMS TEST DATA. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE EJECTOR SYSTEM WITH ABSORPTION SYSTEMS SHOWED THAT THE EJECTOR SYSTEM IS COMPETITIVE UNDER CONDITIONS OF FAIRLY HIGH EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURES. THIS COMPACT SYSTEM IS WELL ADAPTED TO AIR CONDITIONING (SEE PRECEDING ABSTRACT).
