Summary
On the basis of analyzing the effects of clearance volume on the performance of a rotary compressor, the clearance volume of the rotary compressor was reduced and the modified rotary compressor was tested. The experimental results show that the clearance volume has effect on the performance of the rotary compressor and the performance is improved when the clearance volume decreases. Compared with the original compressor, the refrigerating capacity and COP of the modified compressor increase by about 2.43% and 3.23%, respectively. However, the noise of the modified rotary compressor rises, but its value is still less than national standards requirement (66 dB).
