IIR document

Experimental thermodynamic analysis of a variable-speed open reciprocating refrigeration compressor.

Author(s) : SCALABRIN G., BIANCO G.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

An experimental analysis of the thermodynamic behaviour of an open reciprocating refrigeration compressor, whose capacity is modulated by variation of its speed, is presented. The main parameters describing performance and thermodynamic efficiency at several values of suction and discharge pressure and varying speeds, are also presented and discussed. A significant increase of compressor efficiency at lower speeds has been found.
