Summary

Experimental studies are carried out on a metal hydride cooling system working with a zirconium-manganese-iron/manganese-nickel(4.5)-aluminium(0.5) pair. The effects of operating parameters such as heat source, heat sink and refrigeration temperatures, and half-cycle times on the system performance are obtained. The experimental results are compared with an analytical model proposed earlier by the authors, and a satisfactory agreement is found between the two.
