Summary

RESEARCH AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DELFT ON THE FROSTING AND DEFROSTING OF AIR COOLERS HAS RESULTED IN THE ELABORATION OF THE DUTCH STANDARD NEN 1876 WHICH DESCRIBES THE FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF AIR COOLERS OPERATING UNDER FROSTED CONDITIONS. IT IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE, IN A RELIABLE MANNER, THE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY AND THE COEFFICIENT OF EFFICIENCY DURING COOLINGAD THE AUTHOR PRESENTS THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF OPTIMIZING THEORIES FOR THE INSTALLATION.
