DISCUSSES THE PROBLEM OF SICK BUILDINGS AND LISTS THE PRINCIPAL CATEGORIES OF COMPLAINTS COMMON TO SUCHBUILDINGS, DISCUSSING THEM IN TURN: OCCUPANT CONTROL, FRESHNESS, WARMTH, FACADE FACILITIES, NUISANCES, MAINTENANCE NEGLECT, QUALITY OF SURROUNDINGS AND ROOM DISTRIBUTION. CONCLUDES THAT PROPERLY DESIGNED AND INSTALLED AIR CONDITIONING WITH THE NEEDS OF THE END-USER APPRECIATED AND USED AS THE PRIMARY DESIGN REQUIREMENT, WILL GREATLY ASSIST IN ENSURING A < HEALTHY BUILDING > IS ACHIEVED.
