Summary

PROCESSES OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER TAKING PLACE DURING THE EVAPORATION OF WATER VAPOUR FROM LITHIUM BROMIDE WATER SOLUTIONS RUNNING ALONG HORIZONTAL TUBES OF ABSORPTION MACHINE GENERATORS IN THE FORM OF LAYERS WERE NOT YET SUFFICIENTLY INVESTIGATED IN THE OPINION OF THE AA. EXPERIMENTS CONDUCTED ON THIS SUBJECT ON A SINGLE ROW SILVER PLATED COPPER TUBE STAND (D = 19 MM AND L = 250 MM) ARE DESCRIBED. DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS PROVIDED A POSSIBILITY TO OBTAIN FORMULAE AND GRAPHS FOR PRACTICAL CALCULATIONS ON ALL INTERRELATING FACTORS DETERMINING THE HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER PHENOMENAE INVOLVED IN ABSORPTION AND DESORPTION. THE MAIN SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS WAS CARRIED OUT AT WATER VAPOUR PRESSURE OF 10 KPA, SPRAYING DENSITIES CHANGING FROM 0.05 TO 0.25 KG/M 3 AND SPECIFIC HEAT FLOWS OF 5 TO 50 KW/M 2. E.K.
