Heat pipe technology for refrigeration and cooling (principles and practical applications).

Author(s) : SMIRNOV H. F.

Summary

Heat pipe technologies do have practical applications. Heat pipes in general and especially loop heat pipes can be used as powerful external or internal thermal links. Loop heat pipes used in a capillary pump application are means for forced circulation supply in vapor-ejector or absorption-diffusion refrigerating machines. Heat transfer panels on the thermosiphon loop application are used for thermal mode improvement of domestic refrigerators and heat and cold chambers. Different refrigerating and air conditioning systems use heat pipes. A special field of application of heat pipe technology is ice and snow melting.
