Summary

PRESENTS A MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS APPROPRIATE FOR THE CALCULATION OF HEAT TRANSFER PHENOMENA OF A WEST-FACING WALL SUBJECTED TO TIME-DEPENDENT BOUNDARY CONDITIONS. FINDS THAT THE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS OF THE TOTAL INCIDENT SOLAR RADIATION ON THE WALL SURFACE AND CONVECTIVE HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENT HAVE GREAT INFLUENCE ON THE HEAT TRANSFER RATE. STATES THAT AVERAGED AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND TOTAL INCIDENT SOLAR RADIATION FUNCTIONS CAN BE USED TO ESTIMATE THE HEAT GAINS THROUGH EXTERIOR WALLS. (INT. BUILD. SERV.
