Type of article: Article

Summary

THE METHOD AND THE RESULTS OF NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE PROCESSESOF HEAT TRANSFER AND TURBULENT FLOW OF HELIUM IN A VERTICAL TUBE ARE CONSIDERED. ANALYSED ARE THE TYPICAL CASES OF HEAT TRANSFER: WEAK INFLUENCE OF NATURAL CONVECTION AND STRONG EFFECT OF VARIANCE OF PHYSICAL PROPERTIES RESULTING IN THE APPEARANCE OF A WALL-TEMPERATURE PEAK IN THE REGION WHERE THE FLUID TEMPERATURE IS CLOSE TO SUPERCRITICAL ; STRONG INFLUENCE OF NATURAL CONVECTION WHEN THE WALL-TEMPERATURE PEAK APPEARS AT UPWARD FLOW NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE HEATED SECTION OF THE TUBE.
