HEAT TRANSFER AT MODERN EXTERNAL WALLS.

Author(s) : LOYD D.

Summary

DESCRIBES A STUDY OF THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION, HEAT TRANSFER AND PRONENESS TO CONDENSATION OF EXTERNAL WALLS WITH CONVENTIONAL STUDS AND LIGHT STUDS. SHOWS HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO USE NUMERICAL MODELS IN THIS PROCESS TO COMPARE TEMPERATURE AND HEAT FLOW IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF WALL CONSTRUCTION, THEREBY REDUCING THE NUMBER OF TESTS AND COSTS. AS AN EXAMPLE DISCUSSES THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION AND HEAT FLOW FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF WALLS WITH AN INTERNAL VAPOUR BARRIER. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 23, N 6, 1988, 25, 88-01887.
