Summary
A new class of promising carriers of hydrogen and its activated forms is discussed. Presented in this paper are the results of investigations of layer niobium diselenide intercalated with hydrogen. The processes of hydrogen storage and emission were studied. The possibility is shown of using layer dihalcohenides of transition metals as power accumulating substances (hydrogen accumulators) and as a component of a low-temperature lubricant for rubbing parts in cryogenic hydrogen plants. Amongst the factors studied were the superconducting transition temperatures, heat capacities in the normal and superconducting states, and second critical fields.
