THE CAUSES OF THE WEAR OF HERMETIC ROTARY COMPRESSOR PARTS ARE STUDIED. THE AUTHORS GIVE THE RESULTS OF LABORATORY AND FIELD TESTS ON THE OPERATING SUITABILITY OF WEAR-RESISTANT COATINGS IN THIN LAYERS OF TITANIUM AND VANADIUM CERAMICS IN OIL-HALOCARBON MIXTURES. THE USE OF THESE COATINGS IS RECOMMENDED TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF HERMETIC ROTARY COMPRESSORS.
