Indirect cooling: PEKASOL 50, a worthwhile alternative as a secondary refrigerant.
[In German. / En allemand.]
Author(s) : KAISER M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
This refrigerant requires a lower charge and minimizes considerably some of the usual disadvantages of secondary refrigerants. Costs of plate evaporator operation at -14 deg C are 32% lower with PEKASOL 50 than with ethanol, and 40% lower than with propylene glycol. PEKASOL 50 is non-flammable and harmless to food and plastic components.
