Summary
Humans spend most of their lifetime indoors. Indoor environment quality is affected by the building materials used, building features, fixtures and fittings (furniture, wallpaper, paints, carpets etc.). Humans influence their environment quality by their presence and indoor activities. Indoor environment is also affected by the quality of indoor air. The article deals with the main indoor airborne pollutants, given their effects on human health and their maximal values. Necessity of proper ventilation is highlighted.
