INFLUENCE OF MOISTURE ON HEAT TRANSFER IN STRUCTURES.

[In Finnish. / En finnois.]

Author(s) : KOHONEN R.

Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

DESCRIBES THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE EFFECTS OF MOISTURE AND MOISTURE TRANSFER ON HEAT FLOW IN GLASS FIBRE INSULATING MATERIAL. NOTES HOW THE HEAT PIPE EFFECT INSIDE INSULATING MATERIAL CAN CAUSE A DRASTIC INCREASE IN THE APPARENT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY. SUGGESTS THAT THE U-VALUE OF A WET STRUCTURE SHOULD BE BASED ON THE TIME-INTEGRATED HEAT FLUX AND SURFACE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE OF THE STRUCTURE. (INT. BUILD. SERV.
