Summary

A refrigeration system consisting of a sorption bed, an evaporator, a condenser and a liquid storage tank is established for the recovery of low-level waste heat. Our previous study indicated that the consolidated compact composite multi-salt sorbents are more suitable for the application for the recovery of different kinds of waste heat, so the multi-salt sorbents of CaCl2/MnCl2 are filled in the sorption bed with a comprehensive consideration of cooling and heating source. In order to evaluate the performance of the system under extreme conditions, the hot air generated by an electric heater and outside air are used to heat and cool the sorption bed respectively in view of the small heat transfer coefficient of gas.
