Summary
An analytical method proposed by Matsubara is used in order to discuss the performance of a pulse tube cooler in this paper. Based on this simplified method using the equivalent PV work the harmonic vibration of the piston in the resonator of a pulse tube cooler is analyzed. The equation for computing the resonance frequency is deduced. A family of resonance curves is obtained. The analysis shows that the numerical result is in accordance with the experimental result by Matsubara.
