Summary
A demonstration model of the "most energy and environmental friendly refrigerator in the world" was introduced at the Amsterdam Energy Company at the beginning of April 1994. The electricity consumption of the refrigerator is four to six times lower than the most widely used refrigerator with the same content (200 litres) at the present. This consumption can be lowered still further by using a vacuum insulation jacket.
