Summary

TO PREDICT PERFORMANCE OF LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRIC THERMOSTATS IN A DYNAMIC BUILDING SYSTEM, A COMPUTER MODEL REPRESENTING TWO TYPES OF THERMAL FEEDBACK WAS DEVELOPED. THIS MODEL ALLOWS THERMOSTAT PERFORMANCE TO BE DETERMINED UNDER ANY LOAD CONDITIONS. AS INPUT TO THE MODEL, THE BASIC PARAMETERS OF THERMOSTAT PERFORMANCE WERE FIRST IDENTIFIED AND THEN DETERMINED EXPERIMENTALLY. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS WERE USED AS INPUT PARAMETERS FOR THE SIMULATION MODEL. BASED UPON THE RESULTS, A SWITCH-FEEDBACK MODEL COMPUTER SIMULATION IS RECOMMENDED FOR STUDYING LOW-VOLTAGE ROOM THERMOSTAT PERFORMANCE.
