Summary

FINE STRUCTURE OF SQUID CURRENT-VOLTAGE CURVES HAS BEEN STUDIED IN THE TEMPERATURE RANGE 0.5 TO 4.2 K. THE RELATIONS OBTAINED CANNOT BE EXPLAINED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF AVAILABLE NOTIONS. THE RESULTS LEAD TO CONCLUDE THAT DISSIPATION ENHANCES THE PROBABILITY OF MACROSCOPIC TUNNELING IN THE SYSTEM.
