Magnetic refrigeration.
Le froid magnétique.
Author(s) : MELLARI S.
Type of monograph: Course
Summary
Magnetic refrigeration is a system of "entropy reduction of a paramagnetic material" or even a ferromagnetic one, based on the physical property of certain magnetic materials whose intrinsic temperature rises when they are subjected to a magnetic field; conversely, demagnetization causes cooling. This phenomenon, known as the magnetocaloric effect, was discovered by German physicist Emil Warburg in 1881.
