Mathematical model and performance analysis for solar liquid desiccant air conditioning with energy storage.

Author(s) : YIN Y., ZHANG X., CAO Y.

Summary

A new air-conditioning system: the solar liquid desiccant air conditioning system with energy storage, is presented in the paper. Thermodynamic analysis on the solar liquid desiccant air-conditioning system with energy storage has been carried out. The dehumidifier and the regenerator are the key components of the system. The dehumidifier is the internally cooled plate absorber and the regenerator is the packed tower regenerator. Two mathematical models are established to describe the complicated heat and mass transfers in these two components. The model and computer simulation for solar liquid desiccant air conditioning system with energy storage has been worked out. A programme was compiled to predict the system performances. It was shown that the liquid desiccant cooling system is suitable for use as a comfortable air conditioner.
