MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF TRANSIENT RESPONSES OF REFRIGERATION STORAGE SYSTEMS WITH INTERNAL HEAT GENERATION.

Author(s) : SAHOO R. K.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

CONVECTIVE HEATING OR COOLING OF GRANULAR SOLIDS OR PACKED BEDS WITH INTERNAL HEAT GENERATION IS OF INTEREST IN THE DESIGN OF THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS. THE PAPER REPORTS A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR A SEMI-INFINITE INITIALLY RELAXED SINGLE-PHASE PACKED BED SYSTEM WITH INTERNAL HEAT GENERATION FOR SINGLE FLOW OPERATIONS. THE TRANSIENT RESPONSES PRODUCED BY A STEPPED INPUT IN FLUID TEMPERATURE ARE OBTAINED FOR NON-CONDUCTING AND CONDUCTING PACKED BEDS.
