MEASUREMENT AND COMMENTS ON EIGENFREQUENCIES AND THEIR MODE SHAPES OF HERMETIC COMPRESSOR SHELLS.

Author(s) : BRETSCHNEIDER V.

Summary

THE EIGENFREQUENCIES OF HERMETIC-COMPRESSOR SHELLS PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN SOUND PROPAGATION IN THE AIR. IT IS IMPORTANT TO OPTIMIZE THE COMPRESSOR FROM AN ACOUSTIC VIEW. THANKS TO MODAL ANALYSIS, MADE WITH A DUAL-CHANNEL AND ONE-PULSE-EXCITATION FFT (FAST FOURIER TRANSFORM) ANALYZER, IT IS POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE PRECISELY THE EIGENFREQUENCIES. FOR THE SIZE OF THE COMPRESSOR STUDIED, THE FREQUENCIES ARE EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 1 KILOHERTZ. THE ROLE OF THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE COMPRESSOR ANDPOTENTIAL IMPROVEMENTS ARE REVIEWED.
