MEASUREMENT OF THERMAL RADIATION: THE REMOTE SURFACE TEMPERATURE.

MESURE DE RAYONNEMENT THERMIQUE : LA TEMPERATURE SUPERFICIELLE A DISTANCE.

Type of article: Article

Summary

AFTER REVIEWING THE PRINCIPLES OF THERMAL RADIATION, RADIATION THERMOMETERS ALLOWING REMOTE SURFACE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS ARE PRESENTED. THE EMISSIVE POWER OF THE SURFACE MUST BE KNOWN OR COMPENSATED FOR, AND THE FIELD OF THE DEVICE HAS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. THE THERMOMETER CAN DIRECTLY MEASURE TEMPERATURES OR TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS (DIFFERENTIAL THERMOMETER) AND THE THERMAL EXCHANGES WHICH ARE LINKED TO THEM. DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS ARE DETAILED. J.L.
