MEASUREMENTS OF THE CONVECTIVE HEAT FLOW OF MAN UNDER CLEAN ROOM CONDITIONS.

Author(s) : MAYER E.

Summary

FIFTY SUBJECTS WERE EXPOSED TO AN HORIZONTAL AIR FLOW OF ONLY 5% TURBULENCE INTENSITY. THE MEAN VELOCITIES VARIED BETWEEN 0 AND 0.45 M/S AND AIR TEMPERATURE WAS CONSTANT: 296 K (23 DEG C). MEASUREMENTS OF THE CONVECTIVE SURFACE COEFFICIENT OF HEAT TRANSFER AT THE FACE OF A HEATED ARTIFICIAL HEAD GIVE A PHYSICAL EXPLANATION OF THE PSYCHOPHYSICAL RESULTS. TO GENERALIZE THE RESULTS FOR DIFFERENT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES A HEAT BALANCE EQUATION IS USED.
