Summary
Processes working according to the reversed Joule-Brayton cycle were used to produce cold almost a century ago. Fallen into disuse, this cycle is coming back into consideration because of CFC pollution problems. Yet atmospheric air, used as a refrigerating medium, is never dry. The cycle modifications due to the influence of humidity on working features are brought out. Humidity improves cycle performance.
