Summary
Thanks to the possibility of air conditioning without any energy input, natural ventilation of buildings is a valuable feature for architects and building owners. Therefore, large open surfaces have to be available. Furthermore, an outside air temperature colder than the room air temperature is necessary. Because standard tools for the calculation are non-existent in most cases, the simplest energy balance methods are used. This article shows the necessary steps and the further possibilities for the calculation of the natural ventilation in the field.
