THE NUMEROUS POSSIBLE USES OF THESE METAL HYDRIDES ARE LISTED AND THOSE RELATING TO REFRIGERATION, HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING ARE STUDIED, ESPECIALLY ENERGY STORAGE AND THE USE OF HYDRIDES IN CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS. FOR THESE THE PAPER REPORTS THE PRINCIPLE UNDERLYING THE HYCSOS PROJECT OF THE ARGONNE NATIONAL LABORATORY WHICH IS SUMMARISED, CONCERNING HEATING, REFRIGERATION AND POWER PRODUCTION. R.R.
