IN ORDER TO COOL THE WORK-HEADS OF INJECTION MOULDING MACHINES, MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION WATER CHILLERS HAVE BEEN USED, PRODUCINGCOOLING WATER AT 277 K (4 DEG C). THE CIRCUIT IS KEPT CLOSED AND ISOLATED FROM WATER WHICH COOLS THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OPERATING THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE MOULDS. THE LATTER SYSTEM IS COOLED BY EVAPORATIVE COOLING TOWERS VIA PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS. D.W.H.
