Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATIONS ON SUBSONIC TURBULENT WALL FLOWS ON STRONGLY HEATED OR COOLED FLAT PLATES. BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED FOR FLOW TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 213 AND 623 K (-60 AND 350 DEG C), WALL TEMPERATURES OF 283 TO 323 K (10 TO 50 DEG C) AT FREE STREAM VELOCITIES BETWEEN 9 AND 23 M/S, THE BOUNDARY LAYER LAWS OF VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE ARE DISCUSSED AS WELL AS THE RESULTING HEAT TRANSFER LAWS. FURTHERMORE, THE PAPER INVESTIGATES THE LOGARITHMIC WALL LAWS, THE CROCCO RELATION BETWEEN VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE FIELD, THE INTEGRAL BOUNDARY LAYER PARAMETERS AND THE FRICTION LAW OF STRONGLY NONADIABATIC TURBULENT FLOWS.
