Summary

The priority for developing packaged air conditioners has been given to development of hardware that can differentiate from that of competitors. The primary object was to improve customer satisfaction based on the accumulated data of purchasers, market survey of customers' needs and customer trends. Today, however, many issues have been solved and latent dissatisfaction and needs have to be identified. Though future development will follow past trends, it will step into a new stage to further utilize information technology. How will the new value for life cycle of packaged air conditioners become the most significant point in the future? It means that producers and consumers need to "jointly create the market" instead of just listening to what consumers say.
