Summary
The article studies radiant ceilings with chilled water circulation, installed as complete ceilings or integrated as elements. In order to design the cooling ceilings, a model was developed that allows the calculation of temperature distribution, of the interdependance between refrigerant fluid and surface temperature, and of the refrigerating duty. Numerical simulations done in the case of a room to be air-conditioned by a cooled ceiling allow the velocity distribution and temperatures of the air to be determined, and show the cooling ceiling characteristics.
