Points out that consensus on simplified procedures for evaluating health consequences of occupational and outdoor exposure has existed for many years and there is no reason why a similar consensus cannot be made for normal indoor environments. Discusses such a procedure and its limitations. Deals only with some of the main principles of toxicological evaluation of air pollutants indoors. For simplicity, discusses these mainly in relation to gaseous or vaporous pollutants.
