Pulse-tube refrigerator and nitrogen liquefier with active buffer system.

Summary

A pulse-tube refrigerator with large cooling power (over 100 watts at 80 K) was developed using the active buffer system. Three buffers are connected to the hot end of a pulse-tube via on-and-off valves. Each pressure of buffers holds to be high, middle, and low. Valves of middle and high pressure buffers open sequentially before the inlet valve at the regenerator hot end open to the high pressure gas source. Valves of middle and low pressure buffers open sequentially before the exhaust valve open to the low pressure gas source.
