THE NOISE LEVEL OF THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF A SEMI-HERMETIC COMPRESSOR WAS 58 DECIBELS (A) WITH A MAXIMUM AT 2,000 HERTZ. THE ASSEMBLY AND BEARINGS GIVE A VERY LOW NOISE INTENSITY, THE MAIN SOURCE BEING VAPOUR FLOW IN THE PORTS AND SLOTS OF THE VALVES, THE IMPACT OF VALVES ON THEIR SEATS AND GAS OSCILLATIONS IN THE CAVITY OF THE COMPRESSOR HEAD.
