AS A CONSEQUENCE OF EXTERNAL REQUIREMENTS AND INTERNAL MEASURES FOR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF DUTCH PRODUCE ON LONG DISTANCE MARKETS A SPECTACULAR DEVELOPMENT HAS STARTED. IN 1979 THE VOLUME OF CHILLED CARGO FOR EXPORT WAS CA 1.5 TIMES THAT OF FROZEN CARGO. UNTIL 1990 A 5 FOLD MAY BE EXPECTED, WHEREAS THE GROWTH OF FROZEN CARGO VOLUME FOR EXPORT MAY GROW ONLY SLOWLY.
