Summary

PREVIOUS WORK HAS DEMONSTRATED THE FEASIBILITY OF 77 K ADSORPTION REFRIGERATORS USING ONE N2O STAGE WHICH PROVIDES THE ADSORPTION TEMPERATURE (185 K) FOR N2. THE CONCEPT OF ADDING AN H2 STAGE AND HE STAGE HAS BEEN EXAMINED THEORETICALLY AND EXPERIMENTALLY USING ZEOLITES AND/OR OTHER MOLECULAR ADSORBERS. THE RESULTS SHOW THE REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH STAGE AND SUGGESTS THAT A RELIABLE LOW-POWER 4.2 K NON-MECHANICAL REFRIGERATOR CAN BE BUILT WITH A CONSIDERABLE DEVELOPMENT EFFORT AND SOME ADDITIONAL RESEARCH.
