Research and development of a variable-speed scroll compressor.

Summary

Up until now, household air conditioners with frequency conversion control have been very popular in China. The paper presents the research and development of a variable-speed scroll compressor used in high-capacity commercial air conditioners. Different types of compressors were compared; the results show that the scroll compressor is the most suitable type enabling frequency conversion control to be achieved. Electric control is analysed and recommendations on proper design and operation are given.
