Summary

Describes how "adiabatic" evaporative cooling can be used to cool a number of air conditioned buildings (although with a possible negligible, temporary reduction in comfort) without having to use refrigeration equipment. Explains how, with tight internal heat loads and/or the need for guaranteed low room air temperatures, the combination of "adiabatic" evaporative cooling with a small refrigeration machine can meet the required performance with considerably lower energy consumption than conventional air conditioning equipment.
