Summary

THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES THE NEW SOFT VENTILATION SYSTEM INSTALLED AS PART OF THE 4-MONTH RENOVATION OF A HOTEL BAR ZURICH, SWITZERLAND. ITS MAIN ADVANTAGE IS ITS ABILITY TO CREATE HIGH AIR CHANGE RATES (FOR ELIMINATING CIGARETTE AND CIGAR SMOKE), WITHOUT CREATING DRAFTS. THE DISCRETE AIR OUTLETS ARE LOCATED NEAR THE FLOOR, AND HEAT AND MOST BAD AIRARE ELIMINATED THROUGH UPWARD AIR FLOWS. OTHER ADVANTAGES: FRESH AIR GOES DIRECTLY TO WHERE CUSTOMERS ARE SITTING ; LESS COOLING CAPACITY IS NEEDED. TESTS SHOWED THAT THE SYSTEM LOWERED GERM CONTENT IN THE AIR. M. C.
