Summary

AFTER A REMINDER OF THE NECESSITY OF FILTRATING AIR TO ELIMINATE ITS MOST NOXIOUS PARTICLES, THE CRITERIA FOR SELECTING FILTERS ARE LISTED. THE ERRORS TO BE AVOIDED IN THIS CHOICE ARE INDICATED AS WELL AS THOSE TO BE AVOIDED IN THE SETTING UP OF FIRST-CLASS FILTERS, OF FINISHING FILTERS AND OF FILTERS FOR RETURN AIR. THEN IT IS SHOWN THAT A GOOD AIR FILTRATION UNIT PRESENTS A NEGLIGIBLE ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT COST WITH REGARD TO THE RESULTING ADVANTAGES. IT IS ALSO DEMONSTRATED THAT ITS OPERATION PROVES TO BE LESS EXPENSIVE, WITHOUT TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE HUGE SUPPLEMENTARY SAVINGS IN THE CLEANING OF AIR DUCTS. J.L.
