Summary

THE AUTHORS DEVELOP A THERMAL-ANALYSIS COMPUTER SIMULATION TO SHOW THAT PONDS ARE TECHNICALLY FEASIBLE FOR TYPICAL OFFICE BUILDINGS AND THE NEW TRW WORLD HEADQUATERS. AN ALGORITHM FLOWCHART IS GIVEN. THE AUTHORS STATE THAT WHILE THEIR RESULTS SHOULD NOT BE GENERALISED TO OTHER APPLICATIONS, THE QUASI-STEADY BIN-TYPE MODEL MAY BE USED IN THE ANALYSIS OF ANY APPLICATION. A FOOTNOTE STATES THAT SINCE THE TIME THE ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED, SEVERAL ANALYTICAL ENHANCEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO IMPROVE THE ACCURACY OF THE MODEL. E.W.S.
