Type of excerpt: Book chapter
Summary
The article presents the Stirling cycle using helium. On the basis of calculations performed following simulation taking into account various losses (regenerator, mechanical and adiabatic losses), and concludes that this cycle can compete with conventional compression cycles for temperature differences of 55 K between the cold and hot points of the cycle.
