Summary

IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF ABSORPTION IN ACTUAL APPARATUSES, THE WETTABILITY OF THE SURFACE SHOULD BE HIGH, AND THE LIQUID FILM SHOULD NOT BE TOO THIN OR TOO THICK ON THE SURFACE. HENCE, A NEW CONCEPTION OF TWO-DIMENSIONALLY CONSTANT CURVATURE SURFACE (CCS) WAS INTRODUCED. FIRST, THEORETICAL CCS SECTION CURVES OF CCS TUBES WERE CALCULATED, AND SOME WERE MANUFACTURED FOR THE TEST. THE WETTABILITY OF CCS WAS TESTED AND COMPARED TO OTHER FINNED TUBES (RADIAL FIN TUBES OF TRIANGULAR AND RECTANGULAR PROFILES). THE THICKNESS OF LIQUID WAS FOUND TO BE EVEN ALL OVER THE SURFACE, SO THAT LIQUID FILMS WERE VERY WETTABLE ON THE CCS SURFACE.
